The Member & Family Assistance Program (MAP) is designed to provide you and your family with direct access to experienced professionals who will help you resolve your problems - before they affect your health, family life or job performance.

At some point in our lives we all face problems. Usually we can cope with them, or solve the problems ourselves. However, now and then, a problem becomes too difficult for us to manage on our own. We may need assistance, advice, or just someone to listen. Problems which bother us often affect our lives, our family, our friends, and our work performance.

Concerns dealt with

The Member & Family Assistance Program (MAP) is a confidential counselling and referral service for you and your family. This program offers support in dealing with a variety of stressful situations. Personal and work related concerns which may affect you or your family are covered, such as:

Personal and/or job stress                            Relationship issues

Eldercare and childcare                                 Harassment

Addictions (including gambling)                   Parenting issues

Separation and loss                                        Distress

Financial and/or legal                                    Balancing work and family

Depression/anxiety                                        Anger management

Substance Abuse


Anything you or your family member discusses with the counsellor is kept absolutely confidential. Counsellors will not release any information to anyone without your consent except where legally required.

To Access The Program

Immediate access to professional counsellors is available by phone 24/7/365 through the toll-free line. If face-to-face counselling is required, an appointment will be scheduled. You can also arrange e-counselling, video, or two-way chat/email counselling for convenience.

These services are provided by TELUS Health through confidential, off-site counselling at offices across Canada and the U.S. Counsellors are highly experienced professionals including psychologists and social workers.

If long term or specialized counselling is required, the counsellor will assist you with a referral to another resource within the community. This referral may involve a fee.
