Counselling Includes

The Alcohol & Drug Counselling is available to provide confidential, professional, alcohol, drug and addiction counselling and referral services for Plan Members and their families (spouses and dependent children as defined in the Plan).

These services include assessment/ referral, crisis and or emergency counselling, matching ( not tailoring) recovery programs to the specific needs of the individual. In addition, individual and family outpatient counselling can also be provided.

The Counsellors are accessible for telephone counselling and/or face-to-face counselling. When needed, referral services to community resources such as treatment facilities with the appropriate follow-up are provided.

Confidentiality

Members and their families using the Alcohol & Drug Counselling Program are assured of the strictest privacy. Whatever you discuss with the counsellor is kept absolutely confidential.

To Access The Program

Phone the counsellor directly. The counsellor may be able to offer immediate help over the telephone and can arrange for an appointment to meet you and/or your family as soon as possible.

The Health & Welfare Benefit Plan pays for the services provided by the Alcohol & Drug Counsellors.

Services Provided Include

  • Assessment: Behavioral, Verbal, Physical and Chemical Severity
  • Referral: Inpatient, Outpatient and Group
  • Counselling: Pre-treatment, Post-treatment, Individual and Family (one-on-one or group)
  • Availability: 24 hours a Day - 7 days a week
  • Educational and Awareness Training
  • Developing Recovery Programs Tailored to the Needs of the Individual

The services provided by the counsellors are strictly confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
